25 Lessons I Learned in my 25 years of life

I was inspired by Lifestyle Youtuber Morgan Yates's Lessons to make this list. She does a video on this topic each year, reflecting on the year that was. Here are 25 things that I learned in 25 years.

1. Still living at home is okay. You’re saving money.

2. Having a Non-major career job to pay off loans isn’t your permanent job. It’s your in-between job before a fabulous offer comes your way.

3. Autopay is your friend when it comes to paying off loans.

4. Have an investment account.

5. Create not consume.

6. Your parents are your best friends.

7. Social Media is a highlight reel of someone’s life.

8. Don’t put your health on hold. If you are concerned about something, get it checked out. Better be safe than sorry.

9. You don’t need no men.

10. Support companies that respect people’s values. the company doesn’t just post something in solidarity and move on.

- they donate proceeds of a sale to charity

- size inclusivity

- no sweatshops/fast fashion

11. Going on adventures is good for the soul. Whether it’s to the beach, hiking trail, or park, take time to enjoy it.

12. You are never too old for Disney.

-embrace your inner child.

13. Everything but Bagel Seasoning is a game-changer.

14. A smile will make a person’s day.

15. Stop avoiding things outside of your comfort zone.

16. Work for companies that prioritize employers well being.

17. Give back to others.

- Don’t just give back to check off for scholarships or resumes. Do it because you will see how privileged you are from others.

18. Support Local/ Small Shops.

-Jeff Bezos will be fine.

19. Spend on Experiences, not Material Things.

20. Things can change in a second.

One day I was interning for Senator Charles E Schumer then the next day the country is lockdown for a covid pandemic. Then you’re an essential worker: grocery store cashier to then cancer patient.

21. Masks will forever be the hottest accessory since the pandemic. Whether it’s cold/flu season or allergy season, crowded area masks will be worn.

22. There is no timeline in life.

23 Learn something new each day.

24. Its accountability not cancel culture.

25. Get Vaccinated.

Let’s see what my 26th-year lessons bring me.
