10 Lessons I Learned While Fighting Cancer in a Pandemic
I have no more fears in life from battling Hodgkins Lymphoma during a pandemic. I have a new outlook on life. Here are 10 lessons I have learned throughout my Cancer Journey.
1. Celebrate the Milestones. Big or Small, You’re fighting a battle.
2. There will be some days where you just want to lounge in your comfy clothes and watch Netflix. That is okay because your body is fighting away all the cancer cells.
3. Your Support System has your back. Whatever you need, people will be there for you. They’re your cheerleaders.
4. It’s not like the movies. There are so many medications that prevent you from getting nauseated.
5. Eat what you think is good. All doctors care about is that you’re eating. If you want a burger or pizza, go for it.
6. Hydrate. Whether it’s juice or flavored water, your body needs the energy. It will help in the long run.
7. It will grow back. It’s just hair. Hang on to your hair until you’re ready to let go.
8. Treat yourself to some online shopping. You deserve everything in the world.
9. Have a Cancer Playlist. Music will help you get through the ups and downs of your journey.
10. It’s your story to tell. Share as much or little of your cancer journey on social media. You will never know who will be inspired by your posts.
